Extra Stuff to Know

I know that not many of us are not mathematicians--you don't have to be to make macrame designs, but just to make your life much simpler here are some basic charts:

Basic Conversions

36 inches=l yard
12 inches=1 foot
1 yard=3 feet
36 inches=0.9 meters
1 inch=25 millimeters

Cord Number Chart for the Body of Macrame Project

Size of Material: 6 mm
Folded: 2 cords/inch
Not Folded: 4 cords/inch

Size of Material: 4 mm
Folded: 3 cords/inch
Not Folded: 6 cords/inch

Size of Material: 3 mm
Folded: 4 cords/inch
Not Folded: 8 cords/inch

Size of Material: 2 mm
Folded: 6 cords/inch
Not Folded: 12 cords/inch

Size of Material: 1 mm
Folded: 12 cords/inch
Not Folded: 24 cords/inch

*Remember: With micro-macrame (jewelry), the materials that are used are from 1 mm to 2 mm.
